Quartz direct-drive DJ turntable
The Technics SL-1200MK2 is a quartz direct-drive manual turntable built around a brushless DC motor, 33⅓ and 45 rpm operation, high starting torque and electronic braking. Its ±8% pitch control, heavy die-cast platter and universal tonearm made the MK2 a long-standing reference for professional DJ performance and vinyl playback.

The SL-1200MK2 uses a brushless DC direct-drive motor with quartz speed control at 33⅓ and 45 rpm. Starting torque is 1.5 kg·cm and the platter reaches 33⅓ rpm in 0.7 seconds, with electronic braking for fast, controlled stops.
Its universal tonearm has a 230 mm effective length, 15 mm overhang and 0–6 mm height adjustment. Continuous ±8% pitch control provides the speed adjustment needed for professional mixing while retaining the mechanical simplicity and durability associated with the MK2 platform.
